By 2001 he would have been where 50 cent is now. The quality of 50 cent music never changed but the music and type of fans did. 50 cent was at that Tupac level riding the whole Eminem Dre co-sign the way Tupac was riding that Death row wave...
the only differnce would be that Tupac would have transitioned into a much better hollywood career that 50 cent could only dream of...but hardly anybody can find a way to stay relevant music wise with changing trends outside of Jay Z who has somehow talked his way into being relevant in every era of Hip Hop so far...His style would have been dated and overexposed by the shiny suit era and the the eventual southern music boom...
If Biggie stayed alive i think he ends up like Jay Z doing all sorts of stuff outside music and still able to make relevant music ...only question mark would be if he stayed signed with Bad Boy or formed some sort of Roc-a-fella thing with Jay Z but I don't think Jay would have let Biggie fall off. They would both have shined in that grown and sexy phase since Biggie was the one to kind of start that with the whole bubbly, coogi sweater laid back flow
