I Can't take no person opinion on tupac serious if they haven't listen to 2pacalypse now with songs like part time mutha and violent and strictly for my nikkas lp with songs like represent 93 and papaz song..

I for damn sure know majority of women and young nikkas haven't. A lot of so called fans in public only know pac from quad studio stories, rape case and his murder and the few songs they see through those documentaries... Go ask most Motherfukkers who say they love pac music about who wrote gems like definition of a thug and white man's world they'll say lil wayne

The true rappers of the 90s respected pac music from the beginning from bay area, L.A. and Jersey and the few New York nikkas like boot camp click he hung around

Pac was one of the greatest lyricists ever

He was a true poet..and writing poetry is harder than coming up with dusty ass wordplay and similes

I see mothers in black crying brothers in packs dying
Plus everybody's high, too doped up to ask why
Watching our on downfall, witness the end
It's like we don't believe in God cause we living in sin
I asked my homie on the block why he strapped, he laughed
Pointed his pistol as the cop car passed and blast
It's just another murder nobody mourns no more
My teardrops getting bigger but can't figure what I'm crying for
Is it the miniature caskets? Little babies
Victims of a stray, from drug dealers gone crazy
Maybe its just the drugs visions of how the block was
Crack came and it was strange how it rocked us
Perhaps the underlying facts they hide explain genocide
It's when we ride on our own kind
What is it we all fear? Reflections in the mirror
We can't escape fate the end is getting nearer

I've yet to hear anyone in real life slander Tupac.:hhh:I

Maybe because they fear the stans. While he was alive he got slandered (and loved) like anybody else.

But because he has become a mythical superhero since his passing and all the media frenzie over his death & beef(s) its
a risk.

I mean to most of his fans, 2pac was the greatest rapper, authentic street rep but also very concious, almost our future
president and/or our leader ala Malcolm X/MLK, he was fearless and most were scared to war with him, went to war
with the the police (while they were on duty and he was aware that they were cops of course!), he was attractive, everybody loved him, all the street nikkas
loved & respected him, all the celebs wanted to be around him, all the bytches loved him, the goverment wanted him and/or wanted him
dead, respectable gang member (part of MOB)..

Part of Thug Life but when he did it it was really just an acronym for something else *mind blown*. Same with MOB.

i mean cmon..its a superhero novel. its hilarious.

No backhanded compliments here regarding Pac,he was a great who made timeless music but I would not say that he had bars like a Jay Z, BIG, or Nas?

Some people prefer the technical aspect of rap, some prefer the emotive side, some like both, it’s all subjective.

Him making timeless music is all that should matter. That's what makes a great A GREAT. Eminem is probably one of the most technically gifted MC's to ever touch a mic, but how much of his music is timeless?

Jay, Big, nor Nas are considered all time greats for being technically gifted. They are greats because of the music, not the technique.

Well for obvious reasons tho.

1, 2pac came out before B.I.G. 2, 2pac was in
movies as well so his name was more established 3, all his controversies especially from 93/94 up until his death 4, Pac
had more material

Both names became iconic because of their beef and how it ended. But yeah i would agree with those
who say Biggie gained more from it than 2pac. However, Big had just started his career so who knows
where he'd be.

I know its been said many times before but its really crazy how young they were. I mean they died at 24/25. Bugged out.

I'd dead ass sacrifice all these mumble rappers and culture vultures to get all the fallen legends back

The fact that they are/were so technically gifted had a lot to do with them becoming greats.

I think that Big was the total package in terms of technique/wordplay/lyrics/flow, and that Jay Z and Nas fall into this category too.

Pac was not as polished (i.e - what would have happened if he had no enemies or there was no such thing as henessey?!) but his content, emotion, and passion helped make up for this imo

You'd hardly find people appreciating Nas, Biggie, or Jay Z simply because they were technically gifted. When those names are brought up, them being greats are usually supported by songs, albums, verses, and collaborations. Rarely would you see Nas, Biggie, and Jay Z discussed as greats due to rhyme schemes, wordplay, punchlines or metaphors. They use them and so did Pac, but it's a small part of the reason any of them are greats.

The same thing that would happen to most rappers if they couldn't rhyme hood with good.

Really don’t know what?, it’s not hating at all, it’s an example regarding my point about him not being as polished.

Not everybody agrees on everything and that’s ok, doesn’t make it hating

nobody says he sucks...he's got a great sound he's just overrated in terms of ability to rap but that doesn't mean he isn't great

He's like Hulk Hogan who isn't known as a great wrestler because he focused more on crowd impact and emotion in the match vs technique

Not simply because they were technically gifted but it had a lot to do with it,

I appreciate the witty wordplay, double entendres, flow, etc

That 'henny and enemies" shyt was hate.
It's all good though.
Pac made the mark he planned to make and and haters going to keep hating no matter what.
