My mom's submissive to my dad, but mom runs the house. They've been married like 35 years.

Maybe that's hard for a lot of you the fathom. I guess that don't make sense to a lot of you who didn't grow up with a real Dad leading the household. My Dad is an OG hustler, hard working stand up dude. He made sure my mom has everything she needs to hold the house down. And my mom has a career too. It's not like she's a push over, she just know he's the man and she's the woman. Not the same, both have different roles in the partnership.

If you are saying that your mother runs the house, she lays down the law and your father is the protector that make sure all the laws are enforced, then I will agree with you on that. But, when you say submissive and attached 'women' to it you are basically subverting a woman's role while putting a man's role on the pedestal. I'm not saying a woman's role is greater than a man's role, but they should be two cohesive forces trying to develop family. Just because you're rather mighty with the sword doesn't mean your role is greater. The first education of a child doesn't come from the father, it starts in a mother's womb. With that said, I don't want no woman of mine to be submissive. See, I don't have that ego that will allow me to rule over her. Rome screwed society up with this patriarchal system. Matriarch wasn't dominant but it was damn sure prominent.

You know the type, if every time she sees you, it has to be some type of activity involved. You will never ever be able to keep her happy and entertained long term. .

When you choose having a career over a family as a female, you're making a very selfish decision that goes against her nature and main purpose of being here. The dynamics of relationship are all screwed up. Women were never meant to be main earners and providers. They're nurturers by nature. A lot of these women are manly now. A lot of you men are in gay relationships now and don't know it. A lot of these career women are all about themselves. Their careers, their "growth,." A career woman will leave a marriage and family "to find herself,"


It's cool for a woman to have a career, but when it consumes her and she can't take care of her kids, household and husband efficiently, she's not right to marry. It's a impossible task for a woman, something is going to get neglected..

Looking at this from a completely different perspective, does anyone feel like the attack on "strong" black women and black women who are career minded lacks social context and awareness? Black people have been forced to stay in economically disadvantaged positions in this country and around the world ( including our own continent) simply because of the color of our skin. Now is perhaps the first time in event history where we have a chance to build generational wealth and education. Most people who dominate the impoverished parts of various societies, be it here in the USA or across t he globe and across time, have had dual earners and when it was necessary the single parent had to focus on career so that the family can survive. This is a trait that has been passed down from slavery- we've all had to work to survive. In modern times we now have the ability to thrive, and people want to only look at the negative implications of these events? It's socially irresponsible to tell black women that they need to stay home in order to be good wives. Every black soul matters in the realms of education and career building. I feel like comparing black women to non blacks is ignorant of our history and reality in this world. We have never had the same positions as them.
