Because Kweli can be considered the entity within the industry without a history of spitting the epitome of stupidity

Black star was dope I thought. I always like mos better than talib though.

Jay just admitting he sold out and I think that line is wack.

I don't think anyone knows the meaning of that whole quote, someone needs to ask Jay about it.

Does it mean that if what lyrical skills? Technical skills? sold and not grind & hits he'd be living in a small apartment like Kweli? One of Jays most obscure lines.

Or I ain't been rhyming since Common Since line too, the fukk does that mean? That he was rhyming like Common on Vol. 2 but wack rhyming on BP and TBA?

I see as nothing but dope rhyming and punchlines.

Mos def blessed that dude with a career imo
The only problem with your comment is that Black Star was produced by Hi-Tek, so it was essentially Reflection Eternal & Mos Def. I.E. Reflection Eternal beats and foundation to songs.

I remember dropping Talib Kweli's name to pick up white girls back in college. They would use ticket stubs to his shows in their Chuck Palahniuk books.

Those were the days. :ahh:

I knew exactly what he meant.

Talib is nice lyrically

But he doesn't make the best music in my opinion. I can listen to about 2 of his songs and I get bored. Its not cause he isn't spitting. Its just that there isn't really nothing to grasp on to like a catchy hook, or a simple quotable line..

Just like he say he wanna rhyme like Common (sense)

Basically saying it would be cool to just spit and say the shyt he wants to hear but he understands this a business and you got to entertain the masses. Not just the "real hip hop" heads..

what happened to Hi Tek tho? dude was nice
I don't know dude was too nice when he was on his deen.

Hi-teknology 2 is still one of my favorite producer albums, shyt is better than any solo Kweli album not named Quality imo, nearly on the same level as Quality.
