Keep in mind, this person said this gift is going to make up for all the bad that person did and make you feel special.

I'm super hesitant about taking it because of what was said above ^ which means the gift isn't even a genuine gift.
don't take it and Kim, just explain that you don't hold no grudges and you're trying move on from the previous situation

Well take it anyway and if you don't like it, you can do whatever you want with it. He doesn't strike me as a person who is thoughtful enough to actually put time and thought into a present that you may actually like nor do I feel it will be of any significant monetary value so its probably something you will laugh at and share with your future children.
