:ahh: My nikka Big Dikk @Reptile
This fukking guy back at it again :russ:

Nah but OP told no lies. TI was the biggest rapper in the world in 06. And he was def bigger than wayne from 2003-2008. Carter 1 went under the radar. If we being 100, it was Carter 2 (an all time GOAT album) that made a lot of us go back and listen to C1.

TI getting locked up fukked his momentum all up. And crazy shyt is No Mercy was a dope album but by the time it dropped people already moved on from TI since he was doing his bid.

But Trap Muzik-Papertrail was one of the greatest runs in hip hop history :wow:
That’s the nature of the game. Dre has consigned several artist and they didn’t turn into Snoop, Em, or Game. Nicki was running around with Deb and it wasn’t going anywhere. Drake was already an artist and he wasn’t really bubbling until he got with YM at their peak. Both artist were very marketable and it took that Universal machine and a peak Wayne to get them where they’re supposed to be at.
Your logic and argument on point but I still think Drake and Nicki woulda eventually got on even if they didn’t get with YM.

Breh, T.I.'s album that year was a bigger deal than all of this.

Honestly, Wayne was in T.I.'s shadow until 2007. You could literally see the momentum shift when "We Takin Over" dropped.

TI was the bigger commercial draw. Cultural impact and the streets, fukk no. Jeezy and Wayne were both hotter than TI 05-06. I heard Dedication 2 and TM101 more than any TI project from that era.

I don’t know in Miami I’ll say they were neck and neck but I’ll give Wayne the edge we love cash money here. Carter 1 was huge urban legend was huge. Carter 2 was bigger than Carter 1 and king was bigger than urban legend. But Wayne hit a different stratosphere with Carter 3 and I don’t see TI ever reaching that level jail or not. Wayne is still sought after by the newer rappers you rarely here TI on features.

TI VS TIP was on the way to being big, but less popular than King before the charges. Paper Trail, after he went to jail, was very successful. The real question is why he fell off after Paper Trail
He got a 2nd chance then got locked right backup again and that was when it was over

Like I said earlier in the thread No Mercy was actually a dope album too but people moved on from TI by then :manny:

It's simple. Artists such as Drake blew up while he was away in 2009, he gets out in March 2010 and releases flop single after flop single (causing his King Uncaged album to get pushed back due to lack of buzz), gets arrested again 6 months later and is sent back to jail for basically another year. No Mercy also caused people to write him off.

The singles off Paper Trail was some of the biggest singles from a rapper I can remember. Swagga Like Us, Whatever You Like, Live Your Life, Dead And Gone, them 4 shyts was EVERYWHERE for a good year at least. He really did fall off a cliff popularity wise after that.

TI is an incredible rapper with a great catalog but he really is his own worst enemy. Whether it's dumb legal shyt or quotes about his daughter's hymen. I really think he has poor decision making skills lol
