Why don't he just intervene than and there? This guy isn't a here, he's a cold blooded killer, some would even say cowardly.The vigilante would see innocent people getting attacked and couldn't do nothing about it out of fear...so in due time he does it for them on his own terms.
He would memorize and secretly follow/watch the ppl that commit these crimes and one he'd eventually take them out...
The way I described it is the way how vigilantes move so that the police can't figure out who the person is plus there would be ppl who wouldn't understand his intentions in regards to their own moral perspective.

Doesn't matter. He's still a cold blooded killer. I mean if buddy is with the shyts, why not intervene when he see's crime happening. Why not file complaints against the bad guys. testify in court against them. He wit the shyts so what does it matter if they come after him? He can drop bodies as self defense. He'll have the law and some of the community on his side.
