Then I'm thinking how the hell is gravity strong enough to keep every single item on earth from floating away but at the same time can the force can be easily broken by me tossing a piece of paper in the air.
:dahell: the same force is driving all of those things to the ground. you’re not “breaking” gravity by throwing paper, you’re exercising it. It falls because the earth’s gravitational field pulls objects towards itself

the mass of the sun in the flat earth model is significantly larger than the speed of light squared...so the radius is reasonable
