If the Knicks keep winning, what will happen in the NYC streets?

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
The Knicks really are top dog in NYC, huh? Jets/Giants, Mets/Yankees, none of them elicit this level of crazyness.

The lines are very well established. If the Mets win, Yankee fans are like :pacspit: and vice versa, for the most part. Or at the very least are ambivalent. When the Yanks won in 1998 I was working in an office at 1 Broadway, where the parades start. As a Mets fan, I could've cared less but I went outside for a minute to see the vibes. I happened to see Darryl Strawberry on one of the floats, and I shouted "DARRYL! 1986, BABY!" He pointed at me and hit me with the :myman: while everyone around me was like :camby: I was good off that and went back upstairs; had no interest in watching the parade. Nobody really cares about the Nets like that, so it's all love when the Knicks rock out.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding

They haven’t even made ECF yet but the crowds and fans already seem uncontrollable

And they’re right 34th street. Macys and footlocker about to get looted if they win it all :hubie:

Seriously, what will happen? I don’t think they got enough cops to handle it.

They better start preparing now, just in case :banderas:

How does destroying your own city make you the best fans?

they're not.

A major chunk of those kids dikkride LeBron, Steph or whoever. They're just there for the fukkery
The young generations (zoomers and gen alpha) are less into professional sports than previous generations. They are also less invested in team fandom. They are attracted more to the social aspect of sports (party, crowds, fukkery) than to the actual sports themselves. Sports games are events to see and be seen for them.

Easily distracted, easily bored, Fickle and entitled generations who were the first ones to be raised on smartphones, internet and social media. They always need to be mentally/physically/emotionally stimulated so patience, perseverance, loyalty and hoping for the best is boring to them. It’s much more convenient for them to Stan and dikkride larger than life characters (Bron, Steph, Mahomes, Auston matthews, Mbappé, etc) and vicariously live through their success than paying their dues and sticking with teams through good and bad times, for better or for worse. Ultimate fairweather fans.
