This s one of the biggest "What ifs" that I think about concerning the NBA...

How much differently would we look at Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon had John Starks hit that shot in Game 6 and the Knicks win the championship?

Hakeem was obviously the superior player -- people even saw that in college despite the fact Georgetown won a title -- but I always wondered how we would look at both of them had the Knicks won that championship. Obviously bringing a title to New York would have made Ewing a god forever.

But would we look at Olajuwon the same way (people arguing him for the GOAT center)? Would the Rockets have been able to come back the next season and win a title? Would Kenny Smith even be on Inside The NBA now, much less talking like he was the GOAT roleplayer in NBA history? Would Ewing be argued amongst the best centers ever?

Knicks suck :russ:

I'd rather have Hakeem win it all than trash ass John Starks
Pat was a legend but not on Hakeem's level title or no title
Rockets proved they were for real when they repeated next year anyway

Unlikely because fatigue sets in. And with constant winning, you tend to lose valuable players and staff.

But y'all can keep this 8 in a row dream going if y'all want to.

ONE THING THAT WE KNOW FOR A FACT...
JORDAN DOESNT LOSE IN THE FINALS.

ALL THAT OTHER YOU TALKING DOESNT APPLY TO GOATNESS.
