If the PS3 slim have the RLOD does that mean it can never be repaired?

My PS3 has had it for the past 3 weeks now. If it's able to be repaired what suggestions can you guys give me? Again it's the slim version not the original one.

Mine had YLOD back in 2011, shipped it to sony and they fixed it. Also had warranty i still play it too
