Negligible would be a serious understatement in regards to my IT background, but is there some reason they couldnt...u know...just build a new and improved version of twitter?:heh:

In fact, this a golden opportunity for one of our gifted ACTUAL IT brehs to cash in on the ensuing social media vacuum:salute:

So in essence, Elon Musk has the western world by the balls as long as he owns twitter. :ehh:
If that perspective is the real one, then it made perfect sense for him to buy it for $44 billion. A great investment that will net him extraordinary profits when he finally finds a way to squeeze the money out of the worldwide need for twitter.

You can't go wrong if you've got the monopoly on something the world needs that's a unique product/service.

reddit isn't hyperlocal in the way twitter is and to my understanding sending a tweet is as easy as texting someone(including adding photos/videos).

reddit search probably sucks worse than twitters too.
Reddit is very poorly laid out in comparison to Twitter it's like a wild west version of Twitter lol.

the #1 thing I like about twitter is my ability to type something that just happened in the search and get a clip of it

that shyt would take hours/days to hit google/youtube

usually it's just something dumb like a basketball highlight or some other unimportant shyt, but losing almot immediate access clips of news/current events stuff to link people to is gonna suck.

:unimpressed:
The live tweeting from everything to elections, sporting events, civil unrest, push notifications etc is goat. As you said it saves a lot of time compared to how I previously used the internet.

I actually prefer it, twitter has way more ajax on it and you have to keep scrolling to follow a conversation. I have a bookmarklet to a nitter instance that I use in combination with the 'Infy scroll' addon to auto load pages. that way I can follow twitter conversations without the page continuously loading readjusting the scroll bar.

edit: it just occurred to me you might be referencing the new reddit layout. :francis:

I use old.reddit.com

if reddit abandoned the old site layout, I definitely wouldn't use the site as often.

To me Twitter clean as hell when I use reddit I have to think about what I'm doing never liked how it looked on the classic or current version.
