or maybe I dont have it because I don't want my life documented and stored on some off shore server for future reasons I know nothing about. This social media is there for free because they are getting something out of allowing you to shyt out your entire life on their app. Think beyond the surface.

So there's more to it than being able to share footage of horrorcore concerts with each other?

my snapchat is filled with like 3 minutes of tonight's Twiztid show

Which is why I don't like Instagram or Snapchat but am a big fan of Tumblr :yeshrug:

SAME applies to forums and Facebook and every free service. Get over yourself. You fine talking all day on the coli but when it's time to open that front camera for a 10 second snap it's a problem huh

I think snapchat holds a database of everyone's face and sells the info

Before you panic Facebook and ig are likely just as bad UNDER the table

But if u think the Feds care about you and your dirt blunt then u can relax

I am not active on social media :manny: and I like it that way. I have an actual job and doing dumb shyt on social media doesn't appeal to me.

Exactly.

Speaking of which. This person I was talking to said I was probably "catfishing" them because I don't have a snapchat account. The reason why I don't have one is the exact reason why you don't have one. Outside of Facebook, I don't feel the need to put my business out there like that. I don't find the appeal of social media unless you're promoting a business, brand, or you're famous somehow.

For regular people, I feel like social media is for attention whores and for those who have narcissistic personality disorder.

I recently saw an episode of High Maintenance on HBO and one of the main characters of that particular week's story line was a young woman living in NYC (she's a writer) and the whole episode she was walking around the city taking pics/videos/updating blah, blah, blah... of just the most mundane and trivial shyt ever...

All for the likes.

Final scene of her is her sitting in bed, alone... and she just bursts out in uncontrollable sobbing.

It was good social commentary on how vapid and narcissistic people are becoming. All for naught. You'll still be alone with nothing but the solace of your fully charged phone.

That's interesting, but it's true for most of these people.

They use social media as a way to create a fantasy world from their reality. That's what's so intriguing about technology, is that you can use it as an escape from your mundane life, but the problem is outside of technology, you have to face reality eventually and it usually sucks for people like that.

That's why I had to keep my ass off of Facebook because I use to be down on myself for feeling like I wasn't where I should've been in life and then I had people I graduated with constantly posting about their "perfect relationships," having babies, promotions, traveling, and relocating. Then I realized that I actually know these people in real life and they are in fact VERY boring in real life and only put the best on there and "fudge the details a lot."
