People with similar backgrounds and experiences usually have similar views. I also added the word “quality” implying simply being black is not enough. In addition, I mentioned electing more black politicians AND progressives (who may not be black). And not necessarily because you agree with everything progressives believe, but because they are the most likely to be agreeable to reparations since they pretty much accept anything that looks like support for marginalized groups. Progressives are the path of LEAST (not zero) resistance for reparations.

I don’t know, but this idea that it can be done in a couple of election cycles is delusional. Reparations is MUCH scarier than a black president, and look what happened to this country after he got elected. Anything of that magnitude is going to be even more difficult. And that was a half white half African “black” man born in Hawaii. Imagine if it was a black man from two black American parents born in Mississippi?

I asked that question because the current condition of black male/female relationships doesn't look promising for long term goals. And white people see/know this.

Then what is the better option? You can disagree all you want but what’s your “plan” otherwise? You can’t brute force reparations for minorities in a largely racist country. In my opinion the entire approach to reparations is ridiculous. Honestly, In my opinion, the first step should be individual lawsuits against specific entities that benefited from slavery, where we can pinpoint the actual descendants of the slaves who did the work. If you can win some of these lawsuits you can create legal precedence for institutions repaying families for slavery.

Once you can do that, someone should invest in tracing lineage so that we can pinpoint ancestors of as many slaves as possible so they can make their claim against all the institutions that benefited from the work of their ancestors. In fact this should probably start now. But it would need be done with discretion and ZERO mention of reparations, otherwise people will try to stop or discredit it. If you can get consensus that it’s valid BEFOREHAND, then when it’s used for reparations no one can say anything (without being disingenuous).

In addition, institutions like HBCUs should also be bringing litigation against government institutions for not receiving funding they were owed but denied.

This needs to be moved from a social problem to a legal one. Law says that you can’t reasonably expect someone to do work for you and you not pay them a fair fee.

Even though its true. Georgia been a red state for a minute and these cacs will have him out the paint on mid terms.

No, Medicare expansion would be simply expanding the age range to give more people healthcare. Medicare 4 all is nationalized healthcare and would cover everyone of all ages

There’s nothing wrong with what Warnock said. He’s the first black senator Georgia since reconstruction and only the 11th black Senator ever.

You didn’t address anything I said. I don’t have any issue or qualms with what you’re saying here. It makes sense. My question is HOW is this extreme minority going to convince a racist government of this without garnering power from those who share struggles (though they are not identical by any means) or without compromising what you’re asking for.

Black people, even if you include non-ADOS, have very little power. Half of the black people who do have power aren’t pro-black. So what strategy will the rest of you use to get what you want?

Facts. The congressional black caucus is bigger now than it has ever been before. And it’s barely 9% of all federally elected congress members.

I keep asking where these votes are going to come from…
