Nah. Kanye has always been better at making songs but as a vocalist himself, he is clearly lacking. He lyricism is average, his delivery is average, the sound of his voice can't compare to Biggie or Wayne or even an Em, and then when you consider his budget for making albums is 50 x the amount of other hip hop artist, it makes his expensive, complex productions seem less amazing. Now if you want to talk about his status as a pop icon then maybe we can have a conversation but as a music artist, and especially in the context of hip hop, he is not one of the GOATS.
I came in ready to :superman: but this comment cut my legs from under me. I agree Kanye has some issues that keep him from being the GOAT rapper (plenty ghost writers, an emphasis on production over lyricism etc). Ironic as it sounds, I think that ultimately Kanye will mean more to music in general than rap music in particular.

If we're talking transcending the game in this new millennium from one extreme to the next, then he's the anointed one for that :yeshrug:

But, he's not a GOAT rapper or producer when he has a team of ghostwriters and apparently producers, just check the credits:huhldup:
