I never said anything about anyone trying to look like any race you said that. The women in this thread that wear weave told you that we don't wear weave to look white but you refuse to believe that. Like you said, just because someone alters something on their body (is wearing weave even altering anything?) doesn't mean their trying to be the race the "alteration" is typically associated with. but for someone you guys don't want to believe that's true for black women. Maybe it's because it'll be one less thing you can complain about.

Lets be real here, black women wear weaves to conform to white standards of beauty. In other words they do it to look more white. You can try and deflect or twist this shyt around all you like, but that's what it is. And now this skin bleaching shyt is becoming more popular.

Wrong! My mother has straight hair and she is fully black. Also, everyone's hair grows at the same average speed: six inches a year (give or take). The only thing that's different with afro-textured hair is that it is more prone to damage if not conditioned/oiled properly. If we spent half our time/money teaching young and old black women the science behind our hair, I'm more than certain other races would gasp at how beautiful and versatile our hair is. It took a while but I'm in love my hair now. I will definitely play this song for my future daughter:
