My daughter is 8 and they are currently learning how to play chess. By the end of the month she has to know how to set up a chess board, what are the legal moves for each piece and the names of all the pieces. Her teacher expects her to be able to play with other students which she says will promote critical thinking. So, I said that to say this, you're right lol

Move the pawn in front of the knight to leave space for the queen to checkmate the opponent if they open a certain way

My girl bring her cousin over, he compliment me about my chess board on the dining room table and I ask him can he play. This nikka tell me nah so I tell him any man should know how to play chess whether they good or not there's a reason playin chess has become a cliche phrase he tell me "I don't play board games"
