I read about that in this karma sutra book once. However, I think it's really just about variation, not just the number. They say 9 + 1 deep because it's easier to remember. I've tried it both ways I'm sure even though I can't remember any specific time (I read about that when I was like 24 and I'm 29 now, so there's been a few different opportunities to use it) but, for me, it's better to just randomly think "go deep" when I'm in the middle of fukking rather than count out 9 short and 1 deep. However, you got to remember, these techniques were designed for couples to use between themselves (in fact, that is the sole purpose behind the creation of those techniques), not for you to just use on some random girl your fukking or some one night stand. It's rare your gonna pull it off correctly on a girl you're fukking for the first time. Mostly because it is something you have to test and try over time and other factors. At least that's what I've come to understand after reading about it.
