50/50 for household bills
Each pay their own personal expenses if it goes over the mutual budget (if he/I spends more of the allocated money on shopping, if one of our cell phone bills is more than usual, then the person who goes over puts more in).

What do you mean one cell phone bill is more than the other?
Why wouldn't you just have separate contracts?

Family contracts = 1 account.
1 account = easy for one person to log in and see phone/text history....You see where I'm going with this...

That trip wasn't cheap at all.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you said you'd split the cell phone bill depending on whose portion of the bill was higher.

My thing is...just have separate contracts and pay your own phones separately.

Nope! I'm going to get it down though - I always call and complain and they reduce it.

You did misunderstand. People have separate phone numbers. If I go over by a lot on my number, then that means I wasn't careful and within budget so I should have to pay the difference, and vice versa.

t-dot till they bury me
split down the middle....we have a joint expense account for all things "home" and deposit $$ to the account every paycheque; each have our own personal chequing, savings, VISA, etc...
