Negative response to Xbox One was a 'very useful source' for PS4 marketing decisions, says Shuhei Yoshida | Polygon

It is/was the way the industry is going. People don't want it/weren't ready yet, those of us that were ready missed out on some pretty cool advances.

He's talking about the marketing and the way they wanted to address it. They said from the get go that it wasn't going to be a always online console and that you could play games with no internet connection at all. So how would they have put in the same thing as X1 without those? They were never going the route MS did.

And nobody's debating if the industry is going digital. Everyone knows it is. MS jumped the gun tho. Too many things need to happen before the majority want their games that way.

And you can't compare PS+ to paying 60$ for a game and not really owning it. The games I get on PS+ are FREE.

Then stop stanning a console :stopitslime:

If thats what you thought, you should of made a thread about that thought.
Thats what I did in this very thread, but you refuse to discuss that thought :stop:
My thought isn't asking what your thought is, and you want your thought to take precedent over my thought in my thread. What that means kind sir is that you will have to answer my question before I begin with yours. Cuz all your trying but failing to accomplish is changing the subject

:stopitslime: nikka shut your bytch ass up. I was addressing something you said in your first attention seeking post in this thread.

You said if you like PS+ then you should favor a always on connection. All I asked was why? Simple enough for you?

You can play a game whenever/wherever you want offline. Simple enough for ya? If you aren't connected online, there's no way a publisher can block you from playing the game offline.

Stay  though....

:mj:

I'm glad you even got a dap from CarolinaKing because now I can group both of you up in the retard category. There is a gaping hole in your whimper tho :patrice:

You quoted me, then you put tunnel vision goggles on and saw "system level" totally forgetting before that it says "blocking used games on a"

See, you talking about 2 things at once, and you try to change the subject with each whimper. Playing games on/offline isn't the topic you and I are currently discussing. Its used games, and while they won't be blocked on a system level, Developers have the FINAL SAY. When Xbox said this, you guys was like "Oh really, well what do you think developers will do if its up to them :stopitslime:

You guys ignored the fact sony has said the same thing all along. But here you all are "assuming.. assumptions" that what? Becasue its PS4 they won't envoke there final say? Really, you really believe that? :heh:

You Rekka, Don't you love Madden, NCAA, Battlefield? Aren't those your favorite games to play? Now peep this link again...

You can hold into the "Sony is noble, and looking out for the customers" narative if you want to. But they pretty much admitted that that were going with a similar plan as M$ but backed off of it close to e3 due to the backlash.

:snoop: how are the games on ps+ "free" when you have to PAY for the subscription?

:snoop: and how would you not "own" a game that you use digitally?

Well what if next gen microsoft goes broke and they have to take down XBL, thats why I need to have a physical copy today so in the future when nobody uses physical disc for anything I can pull out my 8-track that plays Pong on it and be like

I buy those games new, so it doesn't affect me. If EA chooses to block those games, let them take the heat. Makes no sense to do it at a system level like MS was gonna do. I buy a game that has single player offline, I should be able to play it. Period. Even if I can't connect to the internet.

How they choose to block used games with no online DRM is beyond me. A disc activation maybe? Who knows. But let them get shytted on for it, not the console maker.

Sony = Gamer Champions!!!

No they didn't and you have no proof saying otherwise. There are numerous quotes from Sony execs talking about how they wouldn't require online to play games well before e3 and even before MS unveiled the One.

The majority of gamers have the Internet. :manny:

That doesn't mean most have internet fast enough or large enough hdd to download 30+ gig games. And too many people just like to have the physical disc still. They still sell CD's for a reason.

PS+ costs 50$ a year.

In the past couple of months I've downloaded LittleBigPlanet Karting (reg. price 39.99), Deus Ex: Human Revolution (reg. price 19.99), XCom: Enemy Unknown (39.99), Sleeping Dogs (29.99), Spec Ops: The Line (29.99)

That's 159$ before taxes. After about 2-3 games my subscription has paid for itself and any game after that is FREE.

Well lets dissect what you wrote here. First its you buy new games so this wouldn't affect you. So what are you complaining for if it doesn't affect you :wtf:
Oh, you mean your a humanitarian now. But your console was made in sweatshops :patrice:

The online thing, two part answer. first off, you always online so that wouldn't affect you either. But since you a humanitarian I guess those people who don't have broadband? What about them :damn: Well, they don't have broadband so why would they spend $4/500 on a gaming system when that could give them 3+yrs of broadband internet service at home? Lets not tell them what they should do, lets cater our entire business to this minority and ignore the fact the majority of us are with internet.

2ndly/Finally the bold. Makes perfect sense as to why to block it from a system level. Then Microsoft could work with US THE CONSUMERS instead of just working with developers. 10gm sharing is just one of the many features WE GOT. You cried about it, they had to cave in. But the PROBLEM is everyone who isn't a dumbass fanboy will tell you that Microsoft just didn't communicate what they was trying to do very well. Thats part of it, but the bigger part is YOU. YOU and the millions of fanboys just like you who ran with every fear mongering thought you can come up with and repeated lies and untruths nonstop for weeks on end til the lies was more known than the truth.

So they pulled back for now, but will still go full speed ahead sooner than later. But dont worry about that, cuz like you said. It doesn't affect you :manny:

You should check my last post from the previous page, then get back to us

According to who? Everything Sony said and did was against having the same drm plans. You just making assumptions based on what YOU thought they would do
Hi, My name is PS4 and I know you want me. But I have to correct you, people who like me make assumptions. Xbox side, they go by facts more times than not. Here, let me show you how I was and still is pro DRM

The Was - Sony's PS4 DRM plans detailed in January 2013 patent filing? - PlayStation 4 - Giant Bomb

And the Still is - Third-Party Publishers WIll Have Final Say On Used Games For PS4 | Kotaku Australia

Sony has openly said this the entire time. "We won't block games on a system level" but what does that mean? If they didn't block games then they would of said "We don't block games, period" but they made sure to say EVERYTIME "on a system level"

Then they tell you devs have the final say and you morons ignore this :patrice:
Or am I making assumptions :bryan: Real talk, from the bottom of my heart. PS-fans?

We know Sony is going to blame the game companies for the DRM after the systems are sold. But I'm tired of all this lying. Sony with their DRM... or really just changing stuff on a whim... and Microsoft overselling the cloud and all its other specs.

Yeah, sony doesn't roll like that. My bad. So uh, would you like to stream a movie to PS3? Oh wait, riiiiiight. They got DRM for that too. Cinavia :patrice:

The patent I showed you, they probably just made that patent for shyts n giggles.

They didn't try to sneak DRM this gen on titles, and had a history of rootkits/etc. Nah, sony wouldn't do that. I was assuming and I'm sorry for that
Microsoft backed down to DRM recently, obviously because sony has no plans on that so they followed. But whats this?

Sony: Third-Party DRM Refers to Playing Used Games Online Only | Game Front

Wait, I thought we was done with this. So its still here for the majority of games we'll be playing? On both systems? How many gamers thought DRM was gone, raise of hands :hula:

Most ppl still talk about how MS backed down, sorta. But nobody is talking about how sony never backed down.. well, sorta. They just did it before E3
But they didn't back away. Microsoft was open about what they was trying to do, sony kinda just slitered and is still down with the same cause.

Just try to realize this, because the fanboy war made you look the otherway

Like they went to Devs and said we are gonna do everything you want except for the DRM stuff. But we'll get a patent for it though for no reason.
