No they didn't and you have no proof saying otherwise. There are numerous quotes from Sony execs talking about how they wouldn't require online to play games well before e3 and even before MS unveiled the One.
Read the quote again. He said we usualy dont make hardware descisions base on public input, but they did this time.

What else could he mean by that if he's not talking about some type of drm?

Think back to the ps4 reveal. One of their big selling points was the ability to switch between games and to stop any game at any time and then come back and start at the same exact spot where you left off.

How could this be done if you need a disc in the drive?

That doesn't mean most have internet fast enough or large enough hdd to download 30+ gig games. And too many people just like to have the physical disc still. They still sell CD's for a reason.
Which is why physical discs were still allowed.

PS+ costs 50$ a year.

In the past couple of months I've downloaded LittleBigPlanet Karting (reg. price 39.99), Deus Ex: Human Revolution (reg. price 19.99), XCom: Enemy Unknown (39.99), Sleeping Dogs (29.99), Spec Ops: The Line (29.99)

That's 159$ before taxes. After about 2-3 games my subscription has paid for itself and any game after that is FREE.
All old games that aren't very popular, which is why they give them to you with your subscription. All of these games can be found elsewhere for very low prices. You'd be better off taking your $50 to GameStop and getting 3-4 old ass games that you want instead of what they give you. Then you'd actually own the games and get to keep/sale/trade them as you see fit.

Sony got y'all paying to rent games you don't want and U.O.E.N.O. They can't sell the games on their own, so they charge you to rent them, and tell you it's free.

I have to hand it to Sony, they are PR geniuses. Sell em what they don't want then convince them it's free:wow:

Fam, you're wrong the title of the article even says it. He was talking about the marketing and how they would announce it. How could they put the same kind of drm without the console being always online?

Digital downloads are offered. And they were talking about between games and different apps.

Which is why physical discs were still allowed.

But they were useless on X1. Every game had to be installed and the disc are pointless at that point. You lost all benefits of having a disc like being able to let others borrow the game.

If that's the case you renting your XBox Live service and U.O.E.N.O. They put services that are free to access on every other device or services that require a subscription behind a paywall which makes you pay multiple times for it.

MS stay eating off their customer. They the real PR geniuses :obama:

His exact words were "hardware decisions" not marketing decisions :manny:

No. They were talking about between games, cause they showed the sequence of being able to jump out of your game and straight into your friends game to help them out. They also talked about jumping from blu-rays to games, which would be impossible if the game disc was needed in the drive.

But they were useless on X1. Every game had to be installed and the disc are pointless at that point. You lost all benefits of having a disc like being able to let others borrow the game.
It's over and done now, but if you want, you should to read the policies again. You were able to buy/sell/trade/borrow game discs. The only thing you couldn't do was GIVE the game away to multiple people.

I got those prices from Gamestop.
Those are straight retail prices GameStop always has those games used and on discount.

Yeah they found a way to get everyone to pay for live whether your a gamer or you're into Netflix. The benefit is that XBL is the best place to play games online, which is what we "gamers" claim to only care about.

Again explain how this would work without an always online console. Your misinterpreting his words.

You also saw him download killzone in the video. It will work for digital downloads.

No you couldn't borrow games, or rent them for that matter. You could "gift" them once and then that person was stuck with it

Those are straight retail prices GameStop always has those games used and on discount.

The used prices are 2-3$ less. It's still a significant amount

That's all YOU care about. I care about playing the best games, with great stories and great game mechanics. And PS+ gets me more of these games than I would be able to get pay out of pocket for them.

And anybody that can't find value in PS+ isn't a true gamer.

Then stop stanning a console :stopitslime:

If thats what you thought, you should of made a thread about that thought.
Thats what I did in this very thread, but you refuse to discuss that thought :stop:
My thought isn't asking what your thought is, and you want your thought to take precedent over my thought in my thread. What that means kind sir is that you will have to answer my question before I begin with yours. Cuz all your trying but failing to accomplish is changing the subject

Like I told the other guy, YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW MANY POSTERS HERE STILL DON'T REALIZE THIS :heh:

I just quoted this guy to showcase the type of IQ's we're dealing with

The FACT remains we are not ready for a digital centric system :dwillhuh:
PS+/XBL Summer of sales/TR2K/BigBusiness/iTunes/Netflix(with or without paywall)The-Coli.com/PSN/XBLA/CrossGameChat/DVR so you can SHARE standard. I seriously could go on and on, but I didn't even need to start with one thing. Darren Williams took care of that for me...

Hi, My name is PS4 and I know you want me. But I have to correct you, people who like me make assumptions. Xbox side, they go by facts more times than not. Here, let me show you how I was and still is pro DRM

The Was - Sony's PS4 DRM plans detailed in January 2013 patent filing? - PlayStation 4 - Giant Bomb

And the Still is - Third-Party Publishers WIll Have Final Say On Used Games For PS4 | Kotaku Australia

Sony has openly said this the entire time. "We won't block games on a system level" but what does that mean? If they didn't block games then they would of said "We don't block games, period" but they made sure to say EVERYTIME "on a system level"

Then they tell you devs have the final say and you morons ignore this :patrice:
Or am I making assumptions :bryan: Real talk, from the bottom of my heart. PS-fans?
Antoine-Dodson-Dumb.gif

Show me a post of mine where I'm stanning a console. Cause I can literally look in any thread and find you on Microsofts dikk

Negative response to Xbox One was a 'very useful source' for PS4 marketing decisions, says Shuhei Yoshida | Polygon

It is/was the way the industry is going. People don't want it/weren't ready yet, those of us that were ready missed out on some pretty cool advances.

I know that's the obvious direction the industry's is going but until fast Internet is avalible in ATLEAST 95% of the world not living in poverty. And that Internet has to be cap free.

Unless every buyer of a digital centric system can download and play any game In an hour regardless of size then we arnt ready.

The fact the physical disk would have still existed on the one proves that we are not ready for digital only and that they knew that when they created the old policy. They knew not everybody, not even half, shyt maybe not even a quarter of their potential install base would have had the connection and means to download all their games digital only. If they truly believed the market was ready then the one wouldn't have had a disk drive, just a really big hardrive.

I blame internet providers for being greedy fukks.

The best we can hope for is that half way through this gen we do switch to digital only once these internet selling crooks realize that they are literally, single handedly holding technology back, cause I doubt there will be a next next gen if they dont

We just gonna have to disagree on this. You believe whatever you want to make you think nothing MS was trying to do was wrong.

It was supposed to be for all games. As of yet Sony hasn't confirmed that all games will be available digitally.

Not once have they ever said this. And most if not all games are available day one digitally on ps3, and all on Vita are so why wouldn't it be the same for ps4? You reaching fam.

You could share games with 10 people from home. Why would you need to gift the game multiple times?

It was a nice feature but never fully explained. Sony did this with 5 people and had to cut it down cause developers were complaining about it. You really think they were going to let 10 people go with no type of restrictions?

I just went to the site there are no significant differences in the price of new vs. used games on the games I listed. One of the reasons I hate Gamestop.

:snoop: outside of a couple titles ps+ titles are complete trash, which is why they are giving them to you for "free"

This is your opinion. One most disagree with. I got turned on to a few games through this. Games I may have never played without that now I love.

Yup cause true gamers really need to play plants VS. zombies :rudy:

No but they do need to play Deus Ex: HR, Spec Ops: The Line, Infamous 2, LBP2, Uncharted 3, XCom: Enemy Unknown, Demons Souls and probably some others I'm forgetting.
