Can you just tell them someone is related to you or can they say they are so they can be let in to see you? Like if you get in a car wreck and are in there and you girl comes up there. She isn't family but can she just say she is your wife and they have to let her in, or do they check? If i say i'm someone's brother, then they would have no way of knowing or not knowing.

If recent/past medical history info states single or married. If it states married but he is separated then the document might also have the legal wife's name. It's actually not a big deal... The main concern that a hospital will have is regarding patient privacy laws. The girlfriend can visit him but based on previous consent or declination the girlfriend may or maynot be informed about the medical details.

It doesn't matter what relation the person has to you, they can spend the night or whatever as long as you not in ICU or some shyt because they have there on set visit hours

i didn't know that about anyone being able to spend the night, but when my brother was in icu, they let myself and my mother and father come in after hours, and i know i didn't identify myself to anyone. But i don't know if they have some kind of proof they require in other cases.
