If you bought a Silkk The Shocker Album in the 90s can you really diss mumble rap?

Silkk is like E-40 - an acquired taste. The emanation of No Limit rubbed off on his image/sound during a time period where the game still had one foot in the streets. If this muh'fukka came out right now, all the old heads would be screwing up their face at his shyt.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Silkk The Shocker is one of the worst rappers ever and I willfully paid money to hear a full length project by this guy. Granted No Limit was on an immaculate run, but dude is terrible. A lot of these new rappers/mumble rappers are way better than dude. Hell most of these dudes is better than an artist like Master P as well.

I'm an old ninja so I automatically had a dismissive attitude towards new artists who don't sound "traditional". I was the same way with Jeezy in 2005 and I wasn't even that old back then. Trap or Die and 101 were undeniable though once you give them a chance you'll understand.

So I recently gave a lot of newer artists some listens on spotify and this shyt bumps hard.

Couple joints I can't stop playing....

Kodak Black- Roll In Peace
Famous Dex- Pick It Up
Migos/Lil Yatchy - Ice Tray
Cardi B/21 Savage- Bartier Cardi
Offset-Ric Flair Drip
Asap Ferg- Plain Jane
Migos-Stir Fry, Walk It Like I Talk It, Narcos

This music is perfect for the gym...drop some more joints that you guys like by newer artists/mumble rappers

I'm not too :flabbynsick: yet to recognize some fire
5* comparison.

Silk was considered trash by most ppl tho. He just had a little niche.

And I wouldn't compare the mumble rappers to Jeezy cause it's not about how traditional or untraditional, it's about content. Jeezy was saying some shyt. Most these new nikkas simply ain't saying shyt

This.

Not sure if the thread is meant to be comedy or not but Silkk The Shocker was never considered some kinda crowning achievement of 90's hip-hop. A gang of people thought he was wack as fukk, and I don't mean "purists", I mean No Limit heads.

These threads are always hilarious though because people will take the most random 90's shyt and project it across the entirety of the 90's as an example of the decade.

I remember somebody in another thread said "you guys were listening to Snap and Ini Kamoze back then, how can you criticize modern rap?" :mjlol:

Ninjas be so nostalgic when it comes to rap. No Limit is bottom of the barrel gangsta rap that hasn't aged well. Nobody trying to hear most of that shyt even when they're feeling nostalgic and they just wanna hear some hard shyt. I bought so many no name NO LIMIT CDs it's fukking crazy man.
