threadstarter showing ignorance in this thread. if the average person isn't making 50K a year, how u expect that person to drop 20K a year on college for a kid and still be able to live???? :wtf:

U missing the point

You're a sh1tty parent if you know all this information, can't afford that sh1t beforehand and still proceed to have babies anyway.

Nobody told these ratchet hoes to have 4 kids though. and when they're 18 all four of those kids are looking like :what: cause there ain't no money to go to college.

Yeah, high education is expensive. If you're aware of this then why would u still go ahead and have so many kids ?

Apparently u don't give a fuk about your kids if you did something like that. Which makes u a sh1tty parent

Agreed. Now, if someone is a fool enough to have all them damn babies without planning for their future, then in my eyes they are irresponsible and clearly suck at life.

I was mainly talking about the average person/couple that have 1-2 children.

Is u chelz from ubc?

ubc? Naw lol

I guess my mom failed as a parent. I paid for my own schooling and everything, now I know the value of a dollar and the stress of working while studying while attempting to have a social life as well.

In the end, I thank her for that. :manny:
I did also it just took me way longer because of the set backs i had, still not where i should be but getting close 1 day i hope.

By the way, who said it's the parents' responsibility to pay for your post-secondary schooling? A) You're legally an adult B) It shouldn't be expected for parents to pay anyways. Are you going to expect them to still pay for your shyt and you want to be treated like an adult? :childplease:

I got full rides to all the schools I applied to because my parents stressed the importance of getting good grades and participating in quality extracurricular activities. They sure as hell couldn't afford to send me to the university I went to, but I wouldn't consider them failures because of that.

If people waited till they were rich to have babies, none of us would be here now. Yes it is irresponsible to have kids you can't afford, but the average American houshold brings in about 50k a year. The average college tuition is over $7000 a year and that's not inluding books, food, living arrangements etc.

According to your logic the average American citizen should never have any kids. In my opinion it more a failure of society than the individual parents if they work hard but still can't send their kids to college.

No it doesn't make you a failure. Only the richest of the rich could afford to fully educate their kids without the collective cooporation of goverment and the people.

Different levels of parents need different levels of help. Some get tax breaks for money spent, or low intrest rates on loans, which are subsidized for the government. Some parents receive federal grants, or lower credit requirements in order to get loans.

:snoop:

But the problem with this is 99% of parents aren't even passing down enough for a semester! Not even enough for four years of books! That is bad parenting. That is creating another child dependent on the state/government for it's most important need which is education.

No one is stating or expecting every parent to have 30K warchest relaxing, but is 5K too much for 18 years of saving?

shh that's enough to cover four years of books or cover a semester of living expenses. There is a reason why there is a sharp rise in private school loans. Parents are failing.

you're only a "good parent or not" if you know what the odds and difficulties are in life and choose or not choose to properly prepare that new being (whose completely ignorant of everything) for the potential problems that lay ahead that you have the power to prevent.

Don't have kids, but then again you come from inferior stock so the concept of leaving the younger generation in better shape then you were is foreign to you. :trash:
