I mean there's advantages and disadvantages to it......
Honestly I'm not sure.....

There is no disadvantage except the emotional stuff of "all my family and friends are dying, boo boo"

You will have new family and new friends, and with time, if you are mentally capable of thinking through problems, everything gets better...

You forget...

ATL…overly
It would be intriguing...if you live to a decent age now, you'll see your loved ones (parents, grandparents, siblings) die :to: so that wouldn't hold me back. I think the mental fatigue might be too much though. Think about all you would have seen & known for centuries & eons. That amount of experiences might overwhelm you

Also, do I have to work in this scenario? If so you can pull the trigger now

Without hesitation. Only thing that's fukked up is your parents would've probably died before the tech became available or maybe they wouldn't want to live forever at 50, 60 years of age. I can't imagine eternity w/o my parents :to:

Could I choose to die when I wanted?

I'd hate to be stuck in a terrible situation but still couldn't "die"

Everyone wants to live forever. The only reason people would even ask this question is because of religion. All the major religions are predicated on our mortality. Remember what the great promise of religion is. You get to live once again forever in heaven.

There will be some resistance at first but once it becomes possible, everyone will accept it. Why die and take the chance on your God/religion being true when you can take the sure thing here on earth?

I ask older people this question all the time and the answer is always no. They say they couldn't do it, so those of you saying yes, I'm sure your opinion will change as you grow older.

Immortality doesn't mean you continue to age. Imagine you could live to be 1000 but still have the body you had when you were 25. That is the promise of this technology.

Of course no one wants to continue to age. What people want to be young forever. With future technology that should be possible.

But are you invincible, or just immortal?

Invincible. You can only die when you choose to.

Who the fukk would pass this up? All you nikkas saying no are either morons or delusional religious nuts. How is this any different than the promise of eternal life after death in Christianity or Islam?
