Love
Atlanta :manny:
Reasons in order
  1. Weather - Less winter. I dont care about seasons. I'd be happy with summer and spring year round. This is reason number 1 for me. I fear the cold.
  2. More personal space - I dont know how people live in New York. Living on top of each other like rats and shyt. Every townhouse or "browstone" as they like to call them is sectioned into multiple apartments. I just cant. I am used to and need my personal space. I'm a single man living alon2 a 4 bedroom house.
  3. Lower cost of living - Making $74K in ATL (at the time) I could afford to buy a house, have a car payment and then some. Making much more now
All that shyt people say about NY arent things i care for like that and there is almost just as much international diversity in the Atlanta area as there is in New York these days. The African Diaspora has pretty much taken over Clarkston. Edit: Note, Clarkston is statistically the most diverse square mile in America. Link Below. The SouthEast Asians own DoralVille. Norther Asians own Suwanee. Africans and Caribbeans own Stone Mountain for the most part. Caribbeans run Lawrenceville areas. So on and so forth.

Ellis Island South: Welcome to the most diverse square mile in America - Atlanta Magazine

Edit: For #2, my friend been crashing in one of my guest rooms the last few months until she gets a new place after moving here from Cali. But yes i had been living alone in a 1,800 sqft 4 bedroom house the last 6 years prior

Having been to both many of times, I’d live in either, but the one I’d choose to live in would depend on factors not stated in the question.

If I’m making the same amount of money that I’m making now in each city I’m choosing ATL. If you adjust for COL as defined by the federal government, then I’d definitely choose ATL.

If I get to maintain my same current standard of living in each city (as defined by me), then I’m choosing NYC. If I’m rich rich, I’m definitely choosing NYC.

NYC - ATL-MIA
NY housing is ridiculous unless you are planning on being a lifelong renter. Cali and NY have the most expensive housing in the country but for 700k in cali you can at least get a single family home garage and 2k sqft with a pool. In NY your lucky if you get 1300 sqft and a patch of grass.

ATL housing is much better.

I would choose NYC if prices didn’t matter, specifically a crib like what Sincere on Belly or the Huxtable family had. Don’t get me wrong, Atlanta is cool

Traffic sucks in both though so I’d choose Sleepy Hollow/Rockland County NY, and South Fulton over there around where Cam Newton from. I need a nice black middle class neighborhood with quick access to the interstate

I still think that’s overpriced for Atl but it’s right in the middle of the city :yeshrug:

Look at the Google's street view on that address to see what it looked like a few months ago. Shift the camera around and see what the rest of the immediate area is like.

Someone's trying to cash in.

Nah, I live about a mile away. I could walk over there. This area is changing rapidly. I'd say that price is spot on. Houses half the size are selling for $350-400K in this neighborhood.
