3DS shyts all over this trash.

Games were WAY too overpriced.

PSN store offerring were good but overpriced

memory overpriced and proprietary

battery life sucked

Control sticks were trash

Graphics and screen were only good things.

System was cool, but the shytty PS vita library killed it. The classic PS1 and PS2 titles could have saved it, had they been reasonably priced. The failure of this system is a classic example of why Sony is a sorry, poorly run, shytty company.

Plus their Hollywood division is racist.

But this has been case with Nintendo since the N64. almost every N64 multiplat was clearly inferior and costed more money. It was still a good system tho for the exclusives alone. But I wouldve never had it as a standalone.
The PS2 was a good system. the Xbox 360 was a good system. You could buy a good system and have it be your only system and be ok with that. If a product of a given category can't stand on its own then by the very definition its inferior especially if it can be compared to a product in the same category that does.

Bad systems can have good games and Nintendo hasn't put out a good overall system since the Super Nintendo which is the last system a person could own alone and be good. The closest they've come since then is the Gamecube. Really though all their systems since after the SNES have been secondary systems at best.

It's like if you have an album and it's got 4 really amazing songs on it and 12 songs that are instant skip it having those amazing songs doesn't make it a good album.

Are we still arguing semantics about the definition of the phrase "Good system".
Does the console have all the hardware capability to deliver a great product? Yes or No. That's all we are saying.
There is no potential in garbage, and the Vita HAD a ton of potential that was squandered by Sony. That's why greatness continues to wait with this company over and over.

I have no interest in handhelds but if it really drops to $89 I might cop one.

I tried to. After almost getting Carpal Tunnel and experiencing ridiculous lag, I threw that feature to the bushes...along with the vita itself.
:russ:
It's a pain in the ass.
I usually play the indies on it, though.

Currently playing this:

your connection might be trash. i get the occasional lag, but nothing ridiculous.

Connection is great. Seamless remote play with the vita is a fantasy, both for the uncomfortable way you have to hold it, the lack of additional buttons, and the lag. You aren't out here playing battlefield or MKX on a vita via remote play. The best it does via remote play is turn based RPGs

i like gtav on remote play. 2k was cool too.i played cod ghost on there once and didn't think it was too bad. lag hasn't been a problem with me for a while. early last year of was a problem, i haven't noticed it much since gtav dropped though i don't care for using the touch pads for the r2s and r3s but those are my only complaints about remote play.

Theres an accessory out that adds the L2 and R2 buttons but this system has been collecting dust for far too long for me to warrant buying anything else for it.

Spec wise/ capability it is a good system. It isn't receiving any support because it's too late to a market dominated by Nintendo and smartphones.

Wii u is a great system with great games but is a victim of its own kiddy image and lack of respectable online options.
that and development costs are around the same as ps3/ps4 development. nobody wants to spend that type of dough just to be thrashed by nintendo

2nd time they got me because i supported the psp go too

The Original Rec Room Gang

There are rumors going around that Sony is planning a big price drop for the Vita, down to $89 from $199. That certainly sounds like they plan on discontinuing the system, after nearly two years of being on life support.

During Sony’s 2015 Investor Relations Day, Sony’s Andrew House labeled the PS Vita a “legacy platform”. Yes, in the same way that the PS2 and PS1 and PSP are considered legacy. The language here is clear: Sony no longer considers the PS Vita to be a product worth supporting.

That has been clear since their first party output for the Vita fell off a cliff after the release of Killzone Mercenary in 2013. Sony just doesn’t seem to care about making more original Vita content, likely moving most of their handheld projects either to PS4 or mobile.

This statement comes directly from Sony to their investors. Its the real deal folks. “Legacy” isn’t a term you use to describe something with a bright or even mildly lit future. This is Sony’s super-nice-please-don’t-get-mad way of telling fans and investors that they’re done with the PS Vita.

Perhaps they’ll continue to milk the Vita for a little more in Japan but I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a Japan only device. There is little reason to ship any units to NA or EU, even as they’ve repackaged it as a PS4 accessory. The PSTV probably doesn’t have much longer on store shelves either but I’m sure Sony will wait to kill it off a bit longer.

What do you think of Sony labeling the Vita a “legacy” console? Do you think that’s the end of the system in the west, if not altogether across the globe? While I’m sure some developers will still release some indie titles, it looks like Sony considers the Vita a thing of the past. Do you interpret this as Sony officially axing the Vita or is this “legacy” comment being taken for too much? Is there a silver lining here?
OMG, what happened to Playing PS4 games anywhere. I thought that was what gamers wanted?

Dear all things that are good and cuddly,
Please still make a PS4-Vita combo.. price that bytch round $500 and I'm in
Oh wait, I'll pay $450 for it now, that should be cheap enough for me to FINALLY MAKE THE NEXT GEN PLUNGE :blessed:
