Voting changes little without political action through other channels. Even then, the underlying socioeconomic system is the problem, and voting can only, at best, lead to moderated outcomes.
Nonetheless, opting as an entire bloc to not vote simply surrenders the entire thing, without contestation, to hostile interests, which is not good.
Read up on Chokwe Lumumba and what they had cooking down in Jackson, Mississippi. Those are the types of political alternatives we need to be building. No reason why something similar can't be realized in Ferguson and other majority-Afrikan communities with enough consciousness and action

I don't like that rhetoric when referring to young black men. It's not nice to assume people are ignorant based on their appearance.
