I remember being in Morocco for a class business trip and we toured one of the largest meat suppliers. We had a chance to sit down with the csuite and ask them questions. My only question was about how if hormones and gmo are permitted under halal and blah blah blah business context. The dude confirmed they are permitted, gave me some business double talk and basically said it’s halal as long as it’s facing Mecca.
