  1. First thing you have to do is build his self esteem and that begins long before he is 10. Teach him that his history does not begin or end with slavery. You will also have to be vigilent with the type of images he sees of black people in the media, music, etc. There should be no hip hop or rap music or other c00n shyt that is destructive to the psyche of your household.
  2. Let him know he's a black and not a nikka or a ******.
  3. Tell him the truth about white people and educate him about white supremecy but not in a hateful manner.
  4. Expose him to black people that are in position of authority (teachers, his doctor, his dentist, etc)
  5. Teach him that white people are nothing to be afraid of or to revere or are special.
  6. Make sure his schools has a diverse faculty and student body
People who think they can just show their kids a movie and that will teach them about racism got the game fukked up. Its something you have to live. You really have to be bout that life. The goal isn't to have your kids hate white people. It's to make them not be afraid or intimidated by them.

Chuuch.

10 is too late to start schoolin' Li'l Cuzz. Matter fact - he probably has started drawing his own conclusions
when he was 6 or 7 if he's smart...

It's a wierd subject for me because I'm with a white girl, but one of my kids looks like a white version of me and my other son is a little Mexican dude. I'll probably have to to talk to my younger Mexican looking son about it while the older one gets that white privilege :mjcry:

I don't know how I'm going to explain to my older son why the little one has this mentality of being defensive. I've shared my racist stories on here plenty of times so I want my little one to understand he may get treated different than his older brother. shyt is fukked up

I'm surprised nobody here talked about internet memes :skip:

Family Man already discussed a lot of points, but my dude and I always talk about supplementing what our future kid would learn in school, and assigning cultural homework in addition to the regular homework the child would get. We already have a pretty good ethnic studies good book collection going on, and just being around mom and dad will expose him to daily talks about alternate current event perspectives.

This means that when they are learning about different wars, rulers, and civilizations (likely euro-centered), we will need to supplement that at home with our own rich histories and empowerment. We will assign him projects where he has to conduct research, and engage in critical thinking about why the system teaches what it does and who it benefits. If the child is only experienced with interacting with mostly white folks at school, we will have to supplement that with more exposure to his cousins and our friends kids. The learning has to be an on-going, regular thing. Not something done a couple of times a year with a book or a movie here and there.
