most people are a color or close to the color that ideally fits their features. so i'll go with brown (like my avatar) or something within a few shades of it.

and then on special occasions i'll just flash through a myriad of colors in kaleidoscopic patterns..and eventually evolve to a color never seen afore in wavelengths captured by humanoid cone receptors

what if you conjure them up in deep REM sleep but have literally no conscious recollection..
