Just off principle alone, you are within reason to cut them off, not even a "just checking up on you, you good" phone call every now and then :gucci:

That "relationship" is basically completely transactional and don't give a fukk about you

Thus is very common in African and caribbean communities in the diaspora who have families back home

It's a sad dynamic

I never interact with my extended fam unless a parent directly asks me to. Even then I keep it short and am always ready to say no to whatever request they give. Most of them probably have no clue how old I am. When I was graduating college some of them thought I was graduating high school

I don't talk to people like that and they don't have my contacts
