In education, it depends on where you teach. A PhD or Ed. D. working at a university is lucrative. Working the private vs public sector, a flagship university or a satellite school, etc. Professors at Harvard/ Boston college are easily clearing 200k. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, they might average 90-100k. At Holyoke Community College, they might average 60-70k.
Not so much for k-12 teachers (I think they get 65-70k in alabama) and most principals who are doctors are really overworked; it’s a job that never ends. You might get to work at 6:30 and not leave until 10:30 because of football/basketball games or endless meetings.
