They are two sides of the same coin, though Lupe is way more :troll:/smart-dumb

I think Lupe can be better than Kendrick if he got focused... Lupe in his Gangsta Lu days :wow: :to:

But rite now its a coin toss. When both are on fire though they bring much of the same shyt to the table.

So I dont understand the either or goofballs

Lupe has become anti-his fans though.

But, I agree they both make great music.

Lupe is superior though.

Lupe is definitely harder to be a fan of right now. But if you like Kendrick now, you probably like old Lupe too. They are different, but they are also very similar.

Not close to the same imo, but I love(d) both.
Kendrick is more of modern/kanye-esque, down to earth, everyday realness type of rapper.

Lupe is more of a old school, preachy, elitist, political type of rapper.

Flows are completely different, production is completely different, delivery.. Damn near everything besides both having a conscious aspect in their music (even though their consciousness focuses on different things).

In any event Lupe's first 2 albums :whew:.

Kendrick's frist two :whew:.

Kendrick is just fresh of his second and it was a classic, Lupe has not dropped anything serious in 6 years now. We're talking Cleveland in Nba finals and Grizzlies being the weakest team in the league.

But Wasalu hasn't dropped anything classic in many many years. Well SLR1 was classic tho.

Love both of them. I think Lupe is the purer MC in a sense that I feel like he's one of the few who were absolutely BORN to put pen to paper. Like rapping is his destiny. Lupe is probably the most effortlessly great lyricist I've heard since Nas. Kendrick is an excellent storyteller and MC in his own right. His album is a new school classic and I believe it will truly stand the test of time. Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar and Blu are the purest rappers of the new generation, I honestly don't see how ANY self proclaimed fan of the art of Hip Hop couldn't appreciate these guys or what they've done to help push the culture forward with a new momentum based upon lyrical excellence....

I found Blu to be very boring

Lupe in his prime was like "Take It In Blood" Nas on every track

But like others said, he lets too much bullshyt get in his way. And hes kind of a dikk. I think I remember him saying he didnt want to drop free mixtapes because his art was worth something. But then he went and made his fans pay for L.A.S.E.R.S. :why:

I kinda agree. Kendrick's style is VERY similar to circa 2007 Lupe.

But kendrick makes much better music. Lupe now is too busy preaching and rapping over contemporary rock beats

A lot of artists don't go around dropping mixtapes though. Nas, Jay-Z, Outkast, Common, Kanye West, etc. don't go around dropping mixtapes just for the hell of it because the art, is in FACT worth something. You don't get in the business to be a struggle rapper, Lupe's already given us what, 6 official mixtapes? That's plenty of free music to be had..

I always give Lupe a pass on Lasers as that album did NOT come out as intended. hs been very vocal on the struggles that he had getting that album released and the concessions he was forced to make by Atlantic. The fact that album even came out half-way listenable is a testament to his talent. I still fukk with Letting Go, All Black Everything, Words I Never Said and Beautiful Lasers, plus the joints that didn't make the cut like I'm Beamin and Shining Down. It's not like Lupe was happy with the way that album turned out...

As far as his personality, I honestly couldn't give a fukk, he's a rapper and he's here to RAP and he's does that very well and what he does in his spare time is exactly that. I've seen interviews where he comes off very intelligent and determined with his message and freely discuses the hypocrisy's in both his lifestyle and music, he's human like anyone else and I honestly believe that his twitter persona is a trolling device so that shyt won't bother me...

As far as Blu is concerned. You gotta listen to his OFFICIAL stuff like Below The Heavens and Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them. When his stuff is properly mixed and mastered he's excellent. When he drops his low quality, sounds like it was recorded in a Harlem bathroom type stuff it doesn't do him as an MC justice
