Here's the common theme of one of those IRL streamers:

  • Sits in a room with four or so dudes :dame:
  • Have a YouTube clip up and discuss the clip with a bunch of dudes cheerleading on
  • Screaming and hollering with the dudes
  • Brb
  • Continue to brb
  • ???
  • Donations and immunity from Twitch bans
I'm good with watching clips when bad bytches is up there.. that's about it tho :dame:

Honestly they were right about podcasts. Everybody doesn't need a microphone and an audience. Streamers are a lot more harmless tho. Mindless entertainment mostly. Podcasters sit up there and be giving out advice and folks just be taking it :picard:
You say this and podcasters run politics. The VP hosted a podcast a few days ago because a ws podcaster got popped.

I like laffing at the new šŸ‘“every generation.

That's sadly the breaks of when a hobby gets involved with capitalism. It's everywhere from gaming to music. It's one thing of getting paid from doing what you love, and having to stare at a damn screen for 15+ hours a day to pretend to like shyt.

I can't do it :hubie:

I wonder what the other side of this looks like. Either when streamers like Kai and Speed become "old nikkas", and therefore irrelevant. Or when streaming just stops being a popular thing. It used to be back in the day, has been celebs would pop up on shyt like Hollywood Squares. And back then people would be legitimately happy to see their favorite has been celeb because there was no social media, and if they weren't on TV or something it felt like they disappeared.

Nowadays, social media and stardom, and TV is all rolled into one. So if these guys become has beens, it's going to be very public, no hiding. It will essentially happen to them in real time. The fall will be just as visible as the rise. I hope it doesn't happen to them, but I think it will.

Happens to every celeb that appeals to a younger demographic eventually. Both them dudes will be rich as hell when that time comes and can retire comfortably but I knoe for that speed guy at least his most embarrassing shyt is recorded and viewable by everybody. Once hes not that guy anymore he and other streamers like him are gonna have to deal with that aftermath. It is what it is tho

Maybe they'll be rich. I've seen too many rich folks go broke for reasons I can't comprehend.

Breh...I'm legit livid by that shyt :why: . Was fitting to mod 2K25 since the modders making it a whole new experience. They're charging subscription prices for something as stupid as a better rendered Goldberg :mindblown: .

Hell don't get me started with the Starfield mods that are just half-assed cosmetics. This is madness right now as a gamer. Look I get it, this economy stinks but so was the economy in the 2000s and somewhat in the 2010s, but even around that time mofos focus on getting their name out there, and will take the coin if folks felt generous. Hell, I remember making some frog skins with my music at the time.

Something truly changed after Covid. Itsl ike a whole different malice to hyper consumerism. You either selling your soul for 15 minutes, or giving half ass product for a temporary fund.

Its insanely depressing and will only get worse. Hell, even if you are sailing the seven seas, you have to pay mofos to host servers etc. The game is nasty nowadays.
