Melo will always be underrated and undermined. They guy can't get a break from over-the-top criticisms. From what I remembered when Melo was a Nugget, Denver was always a low seed team facing tough competitions in the west. Nobody shouldn't blame Melo for the Nuggets' failure to go far into the playoffs. The team was fully healthy for one season in 09 that is the year the advanced to the WCF. In the next following season, they couldn't repeat the same success because once again the team got depleted with injuries. Is like Melo is cursed because he is dealing with same problems he had in Denver in New York--his teammates always get injured.

Tell me why is melo a better scorer? If they both went out there this season and had the sole purpose of seeing how much they could score - who would end up having the higher PPG?

Melo isn't a better scorer than lebron, he just simply isn't. Nobody in the league is a better scorer than lebron, thereabouts on the same level as him, sure, but not better.

Lebron is a better decision maker than Melo. Lebron knew he didn't have a jump shot so he scored mostly in the paint. On the other hand, Melo assumes his next shot will go in even if he's not playing that well. If he had the discipline to utilize his entire game more consistently, his stats would be more indicative of how great a scorer he is.
Kind of like he's been doing the last 5 years of his career where he averaged 27, 30, 26, 28, and 28 ppg.
If he had the decision making of Lebron he would probably average 30+ ppg every year.

Melo doesn't go for the most accurate shot. He got comfortable with his mid-range skills. Homie, need to start attacking the paint more often than settle for difficult shots.

Melo doesn't care about his fg % his primary role is to score , bron is a better player than melo . Melo has to score his only second reliable scorer is amare who's hurt and jr who's been inconsistent his whole career.

That still doesn't answer my question. The way lebron has fine-tuned his game and added a near-unstoppable post game, how many PPG would he have this season if he just went all out?

If he played like Melo he'd be much easier to defend. You wouldn't have to consistently play his jump shot unless he's hot and you wouldnt have to consistently worry about the pass. What makes him so lethal is his insane athleticism and his ability to play like point guard. You take away one of strengths by having him play like Melo, he's not gonna be as good a player.
