Ignore each legends career. Based as just a NBA prospect, who would you realistically take over Shaq? The intimidation factor, plus the overall athleticism for a 7'1 foot center(probably the most athletic player for his size ever), and the footwork, only Wilt if all the legends are to be believed could possibly be chosen over Shaq. Maybe Kareem for his all around play, skyhook, 3 NCAA wins(88-2).

Based purely on their status as a prospect, the number one pick would be between Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and LeBron James, depending on who is selecting. The TIME PERIOD of the selection is also important... if we're picking any time before the 2000s then it's between Shaq and KAJ, after 2000 then LeBron has a legitimate chance to be picked #1 (once teams were more comfortable picking high school kids and the league wasn't so much big man over everything.
