I don't use my email address to do, say or ask for anything I wouldn't have a problem saying out loud in a checkout queue at the grocery store or anywhere else public.:manny:
shyt all they'll get is them ol' mothergoose type love poems I used to write back in Highschool, transcripts from my days as a Fantasy Military Roleplayer and a few saved back and forths from Online chicks I kept in touch with. No credit info, no Government info.:smugfavre:

I believe Google has more discretion than Yahoo when it comes to this. Yahoo was probably indiscriminate about it. I can see them giving the govt the keys and saying "here do as you please:ehh:". Google seems like they wouldn't be a push over.

Oh most definitely. People should definitely switch from Yahoo email. Not only because of the latest hack and the lack of transparency, but also because of that awful awful layout. :scusthov:

Its also true that in terms of making efforts to protect your privacy, Google gets the edge over Yahoo, but that's not really saying much and I wouldn't really put too much faith in them. I wouldn't put faith in any system to be honest. There's always a backdoor, a vulnerability masqueraded as a "design flaw", or a loophole in company policy that allows "unintended" persons to get in and find out what you've been up to.
:yeshrug:

Almost all of these companies including Google sell out and gift our data to advertisers and there isn't much that we can really do about it.

What stops them from sharing that same info with others?

Basically, they mine data, gps location, facial recognition, anything. If youre on fb, they can gps track your ass immediately, thats why I think its funny when dumbasses who are running from the law log in to social media. Boom, they gotcho ass

To be honest this stuff doesn't bother me anymore. I feel like everything we do online is being looked at by someone. I have nothing to hide

That is exactly what the NSA was hoping for.
Invasions of our privacy have become so normal, we no longer object.
I hate that I too have become complacent.
I wish I had the balls to leave this country, man.
