Arkansas? It's not that bad and it is cheap to purchase not only homes but land as well.

how much a home in a regular, non decrepit neighborhood going for in the mitten?
rn not detroit area i’d say a good house is running for $270-$300K, or $380-450Kfor a new build…but salaries here are aiiiight and its boring as fukk unless you are an outdoorsy type

To be fair these are salaries needed to live in the city limits of your metros biggest city. Most people buy homes in the suburbs on the outskirts and they almost always have better schools too. You gotta go back to the baby boomer generation the last time people bought homes in the city. Most of those homes are still owned by the families of the baby boomers.
