Yes. If you're a real pure career jobber, you need to be aware of spots and moves the talent you're putting over are doing. On the other hand, 90% of talent that break out to being stars start as jobbers at least until the 2010s. It would be like being an actor going to a line reading for a Pacino/Deniro movie and not being familiar with their work. Either way you should know what you're going to work with.
