If You Were A Multi-Millionaire, What Kind Of Wrestling Promotion Would You Run?

I just saw this poster of a multi-millionaire in Qatar who is stacking his promotion's biggest show by adding appearances by Sting, Booker T, Rey, Cody, Alberto and Mil Muertes.

So with that in mind, what kind of promotion would you book and what would your cards look like if you had access to any non-WWE talent? Personally I'd probably have mixture of nostalgia acts to sell tickets while bringing in some new talent who I can build for the future.

Something local that could build a steady following. Not looking to take anything beyond local TV, if available. I'd probably have guest hosts that were legends, and spring for an annual event show at a larger venue.

Probably would have to set up a school of some sort, where our shows would be the equivalent of a barber college

I wouldn't do it without a TV deal in place before I do anything else. TV is the lifeblood of Pro Wrestling.

Get a deal with Hulu, Amazon Prime, and/or Netflix for some streaming service and get a syndication deal going on.

Don't try to compete with Vince. Just offer a alternative to the WWE.

Get Jim Ross and @Kevin_Nash or Booker T on commentary.

No authority figures. Keep the focus on the wrestlers in the ring and let the wrestlers shine instead of some damn general manager, commissioner, president, etc. The only time we should see them is something similar to how Jack Tunney and Gorilla Monsoon were used in the 90s.

Three weight classes, with each weight class having it's own style. HW's, just hosses, smash mouth. MW's, the workers division to carry the company. LW's, dives, tope suicidas and all that other wild fun shyt.

Have Mike Goldberg, formerly of the UFC, calling the shots, with an ex-pro on color who hasn't been used before and/or isn't annoying. Maybe Joey Ryan or someone of that ilk. Someone with character who can keep it on point.

Build the company around Keith Lee as the HW champ with a #BlackExcellence gimmick. Be careful which guys you pick up out of TNA and which WWE releases you pick up to avoid being TNA 2.0.

Keep the look of the ring black and white and pull together some anime/cartoon style TV spots for the opening and closing credits to get the product over with the kids and nerds.

Jack UFC's entire model for social media. Embedded, Countdown Shows, heck, weigh-ins the day before. Utilise legends in these areas where possible. Maybe training videos with them working on holds or in the gym lifting.

Be different from WWE where possible. Keep kayfabe at all times. No shaky camera, floaty camera backstage, or any of that production nonsense they do.

- No heels or baby faces, in other sports most star athletes are tweeners and loved by some, hated by others. It's more realistic that way. Very few people are absolute scumbags with no redeeming personalities or perfect angels who everyone likes

- Would only have one championship and that's the world championship. Title changes would only happen once or twice a year.

- No Divas, women can't play in the NBA,NFL, NHL and they can't play in my promotion either

- Would have a points based system based on promo ability, crowd reactions and in ring ability to determine who would be pushed the most

I wonder if Jody Fleisch's still wrestling. That first match with him vs Storm stateside had me as a kid
