If you won the Mega Millions would you take the lump sum or the payout?

Lump sum. Split it equally with my Pops, Mom, brother, sister, my kids (in a trust fund that only allows them to draw a max amount annually) and my wife. That way no one is begging me for shyt or trying to set me up out of jealousy.

If you blow it, that’s on you. I’ll make my portion last until I’m dead and gone.

Also I would avoid building a ridiculous home that would eventually be a problem to maintain or difficult to sell if I needed to.

Got godparents in the DC area who are monied up(not billions but definitely millionaires) and my first call upon payment would be to them, asking for their contacts for investments and money management.

My mother grew up with my godfather(went to the church his parents pastored) and my father met him in college as roommates and they became best friends so I trust them.

Can't blow through 40 million in a year(actually I could) but I've burnt through money before and know what NOT to do now.

Don't buy a millstone house that you can't get rid of.
Sub 1 million price tag, tops.

Don't buy every car you see that you like.
Three tops, too many brings the wrong kind of attention. Nothing that screams out of place for where you're at.

Learn a skill and chase a passion.
This will give you focus and keep you from being bored, which is where the reckless spending comes from.
