It's funny that this thread was made when I recently had this "Gas door location on a car" discussion with my girl.

It's cool when pulling up to a gas station and finding the only vacant pump you can easily pull up to cause the gas door is on the pass-side. I've avoided traffic lines at the station mad times because of this. And in Jersey we have gas attendants that pump our gas for us, we don't even have to leave the car.

And as far as the varying gas door locations go, I read somewhere online that it has something to do with Country preferences on which side of the road they drive.

More so you save on insurance with 'sleeper' cars.

Insurance generally doesnt like rebuilt cars, even if they are are 'nice'. They send an adjustor to look it over before they give you a slip.

To me, I always feel like American cars, with a few exceptions, start to not only drive but also look like crap after just 2 years even if you take good care of the shyt. DOnt get me wrong there are some american cars i love but the average american car priced below $25K is garbage. You have to go to their higher end models ($30K+ ) to find the decent quality you'll get from a $20K Volkswagen. And even then...
