I hate it when people lack perspective of anything other than their own narrow view of the world. Thecoli is king of that shyt.

There's lots of able minded and able bodied people who end up getting dealt shyt circumstances beyond their control. While clowns like Donald trump have their whole lives provided for them and can do nothing but fall up.
People really underestimate how much luck (being born into the right family) plays a role in wealth. I thought once I started making serious money, it would make me more fiscally conservative, if anything, it has made me more socialist in my views.

When you see the unearned privilege these lazy rich fukks have and the entitlement they spout, shyt gets me so angry. I had to get it out of the mud to get to their level, whilst they’ve had everything handed to them.

Money goes to money. People don’t truly understand the snowball effect of something as little as an unpaid parking ticket can put someone into perpetual poverty.

There are land mines and obstacles every step of the way to stop social mobility. The poorer get poorer, the middle classes are getting squeezed to their limit and the top 1% are laughing all the way to bank.

Just because I’m not in the former two, it doesn’t mean I can’t show empathy and anger. The way this game is rigged is disgusting but too many people buy into it to destroy. As long as you give people just enough hope and sustenance to survive, they’ll never revolt.

There's a lot of opportunities out there. Just got to put in the time and energy.

Sharing this comment from earlier.

The rest of the reasoning behind it was :ehh:upon consideration but at the moment I'm interested in your first response to reading this.

Poll is anonymous. Be real.
What is considered broke increases every year due to inflation while salaries/wages remain the same.

Realistically, for everyone who tries to increase their income legally, it will take years before they reach the “not broke” mark (which differs for everyone based on if they’re single, married, have kids, and what state they live in). Many people never make it to that, especially if they don’t have the proper support system and resources or know where to find it.

Also, Everyone doesn’t start at the same place.

It’s not as easy as you think. & those who do think it’s easy don’t consider the resources & support they had to make it.

Sn: I definitely think it’s easier for poor women because there are more free programs to help us plus we can easily get into the Black American beauty industry.

After seeing a heterosexual Black man on TikTok complete his wife/kids box braids at the airport bc he didn’t want his vacation ruined, and hearing the back story that his wife taught him how to do box braids so he could make money, I think more heterosexual Black men should get in on the hair beauty and grooming industry.

If you can’t come up with new beauty/grooming products for men, learn how to braid. People charge $100-300 per head for box braids and other braiding styles (cornrow, crochet or even Lear how to lay wigs for bald men and women), that’s thousands per week. Also, men get braids too, just without the weave usually. Ex. If you can get 2 clients per day for medium box braids at $200, 5 days out of the week, that’s $2,000 you made in 1 week. Add in some professionalism and a wash, dc, detangle. You can charge a bit more and steal most girls clients bc many are always unprofessional, over charging for doing the bare minimum. In my state I believe you can do hair without a license as long as you advertise that you don’t have a license. If you can get one though, you should.

After high school or whenever you leave the nest of your parents or guardians that controlled your living environment.. if you don’t have any disabilities then yes it’s really all up to you as then it’s all about the choices you make to get you out of the environment you were raised in or put you deeper in it if you didn’t have a good one..we all have choices and the decisions we make determine our reality

The "modern world" is not the same "modern world" for everyone.:mjpls:
Yea. The statement comes off as very white and tonedeaf. People saying this never had to deal with the weight of instutional and systemic racism in every facet of human activity.

This is right along the lines of "slavery is was a choice."

No it's not. There are some ridiculous ass statements in here.

"Bootstraps babble"... you gotta be kidding me. Plain and simple, many people today have no ambition, goals, plans or even passion for ANYTHING. Always want to blame others for their perceived shortcomings.

How does your social circles look? Hell, at the most basic level, what steps are you taking or have taken to improve your life?

You are responsible for your self. If you choose to do nothing with your life, do not complain about the outcomes.

From someone who has worked all his life and never had a job that requires a degree, I agree.

I'm poor in the sense that I never had more than five figures in my bank account - and the vast majority of the time four figures - but I have always had a car and a crib and a chick and weed and booze of my own. Always had all the channels.

I've traveled to almost every state and a couple islands.

So being "broke" is relative. I just make sure I have enough. I don't buy brand new cars just to stunt and paying more than $100 for an item of clothing or shoes sounds crazy to me.

People are miserable because they do not like what they see in the mirror.

Instead of crying and blaming society, do something about it. Stop making excuses.

"People work at their jobs because they get paid enough to not quit and work just enough to not get fired."

Most people have shyt spending habits. Hook that bank account up to Personal Capital or Mint and it will tell the truth. I used to run free budgeting classes, so I've heard it all.
