Give his ass $8-$10 mil for 3 or 4 years and tell him to take it or leave it.

He's ranked 22nd in the league in QBR, right behind Matt McGloin. I'd give Carson Palmer money 10-12 million guaranteed with the option to cut him in 2 or 3 years' time.

As a Chiefs fan this is my mindset. He's an OK QB that you don't want to be spending a bunch of money on. But if you can get him at a decent rate and spend the extra money building up around him he can get the job done for sure.

After this season I would have considered trading Alex Smith and starting Aaron Murray with an aim to draft top 10 next year.

Alex has proven he can take you to the playoffs and put up numbers to win games when he gets there.

He deserves good money, nothing wild, but to let him go would be to put yourself back in the same position you been in since Trent Green retired.

I`d say he deserves around a 3 year 45m dollar deel

You know QBR is a bullshyt E!spn stat madeup to make them feel relevant.

He was 14th in passer rating and put up a 5 TD performance in the playoffs

it looks like alex wants that cutler money. and he can actually make a solid argument to get it since he's younger and put up better numbers than cutler over the past 3 years

that being said, i wouldn't pay him that kind of money if i'm KC. i doubt alex would command big money on the open market so i'd let him test free agency

alex smith fit well with the chiefs or any other team as long as he has a running back who can catch out the backfield or a decent tight end

u put alex in a 3rd and 8 or 10 just call in the punting unit

He's a much better QB than Jay Cutler, but sadly the dumb ass Bears overpaid Cutler by about 8m, so Smith doesn't deserve that dumbass Cutler contract.

Jeff George 2.0 been stealing money for years
