Scarface is a snitch and an idiot, let's start there. nikka got multiple babys mamas, I ain't trying to hear him kick knowledge. He made classic music but that's it.

Let's get this straight: there are more execs of color now than there were in the 90s. There is more support for independent artists now than ever before. The dominant, most consistent rappers today remain black: Jay-Z, Wayne, Drake, etc. When I say "consistent" I don't mean in terms of quality music (because lords knows all three are wack most of the time). I mean in terms of radio dominance, remaining on top of the culture, etc. They've been mainstays for awhile.

Every white rapper doesn't waltz in and "win." Ask Asher Roth how he's doing right about now, or any of the other faux Eminems record execs tried to find. Macklemore, Mac Miller, etc are doing their own thing INDEPENDENT of the industry. Even if you don't fukk with their music, you should at least respect their hustle. They found a lane and did it, without trying to replicate what Eminem did/does. Meanwhile mainstream label rap is dominated by 808s, drug culture rap, trap shyt, and a bunch of other wack shyt.

Who's fault is that? Last I checked this is a business my g, the consumer dictates where the market goes. If the market wants to hear Wayne, Drake, and Ross over 808s all day than guess what a label is going to put out? Meanwhile Macklemore and Miller are at least proving that there's a market for other shyt. I hated on Drake a bit earlier in this post but I'll admit even he does some stuff that isn't generic. Kendrick is breaking stereotypes in terms of what can get radio play/sell records, Cole has done that to an extent, etc. There's hope for non trap/molly rap, but it's on the CONSUMERS to demand something new. I don't want to hear about white execs anymore. Let's look at nikkas and cacs who want to listen to the same damn shyt all day erryday until the next fad comes around. If you were a businessman you'd cater to them too, because that's where the money is at.

Tired of nikkas blaming white people for everything. Iggy is trash, Mac is trash, Macklemore is meh...but they aren't the ones destroying mainstream rap. I'm more disgusted by Young Money, MMG, etc putting out the SAME DAMN SONG every month.

very true. blacks do not really have anything to my knowledge on LOCK. I would say the only thing really on LOCK by any black group that I know of would be the Jamaicans and reggae in Jamaica. Even artists from different islands are afraid to roll up in Jamaica on some "I can do this reggae thing too"....

They're followed by a bunch of other white rappers as record labels and other black mega popular rappers try to find their own white artists and make it stick.

Every time this happens, a bunch of black people inside AND outside the industry jump up and claim it's "The Death Of Our Culture. White People shouldn't rap! because Blah Blah blah........."

WHY IS THAT? especially when i've seen a many of ALL WHITE actors in a movie and i never once thought "this is a WHITE MOVIE" . went to see it, if it looked good. because there's no cism to my thinking when i'm trying to be entertained. this has caused a situation where then blacks have to make sure they pair themselves with whites in other movies. the problem with this is, there's a black person per movie quota more or less. this is why black actresses dont get much burn at all in hollywood. there are a very very small group of black actresses you see. while white women get work all day everyday.

again, if you want hiphop to be a LOVE fest with all races involved. FINE. just open up all the other doors you currently have locked black people out of. UNTIL THEN. back up off my hiphop.

Dont compare the film industry and the nusic industry, those are two very different entities. There are serious racial issues when it comes to Hollywood, that is an undeniable fact. But music is different. Even though its a business at the end of the day, the power is more in the artists hands.

White people dont lock black people out of indie rock, or electronic music. And conversely, black people for the most part dont try to lock whites out of hip hop. Its just a vocal, internet based minority that wont shut the fukk up.

anyways my point is music is open everyone.

Its true to an extent that when it comes to POP MUSIC, demographics and all that stuff come into play. But thats the only type of music that has to do with business and image then art.

If were talking about hip hop as a form of self expression... at the end of the day its open to anyone. And its been like that for a while.
