You don't have to avoid confrontation in your own house when a dumb ass breaks into it.
They only one who should have avoided anything was the dumbass who decided to break in to another person's house.

End of the day you're right because it's her house and she may have had something in the house that she wasn't willing to lose or whatever the case

Personally I don't know if I could take a life knowing I didn't have to and I definitely wouldn't want police and a prosecutor deciding whether or not I was justified in killing someone.

In the south we have strong castle doctrine, we don't have to try to leave or defuse a situation in which we are lawfully in our home or location, we can use deadly force to defend ourselves in our homes. So she wasn't taking a legal risk going into her home here.

On top of that, this situation isn't about what you would do, its about what she did and for some reason it seems you are trying to act like this woman did something wrong or something that needs to be evaluated. Its strange to me.
