:ehh: reality seems to be somewhere in the middle

one of the problems I've always had with something like Kinect is I just don't think it would work. at least not as well as people would want it to (but I guess the tech will never get better if no one uses it)

as a kind of tech person, using voice in general really doesn't seem desirable to me. I guess that's because I prefer a high level of control, over convenience

I think it can work. And like you said, it will only get better if people use it.

This type of control has always been what I've see as the future(probably watched too many sci-fi movies) and in my opinion it gives you more control. Think about how much time you spend navigating menu's. If kinect (or any other voice/motion control device) could work flawlessly then you'd get all that time back in your life. It seems trivial, but so are most consumer technological advances.

For me I'm glad to spend the extra $100 and get a shot at the future, if it fails I still get a quality gaming system.

I know at @satam55 would try and spins this into a win. The voice control works well after you learn how to use it. So yes there is a learning curve, but so what we are about to be feasting in a couple of days. Stan a console you don't have brehs!

it has to work 100% of the time for it to have the control I need. it's really gonna take some finesse to get there, because of how differently many people speak. I mishear words all the time in my daily life. there is inherent ambiguity with some words. our language just isn't that precise IMO

Nothing works 100% of the time. I tap/click on the wrong thing all the time. A remote doesn't always register 100% of your commands.

Reviews said its working 85-95% of the time now and that's at launch on beta software. I'm excited to give it a try, I'll give you my own impressions on Friday:win:

lol the PS4 included headset is like a 4 dollar headphone with a mic on the cable and we're doing quality comparisons for wins lol.

shyt was obviously a cost saver, just use my 360 headset on it anyway :ohhh:

idk, you said it was forced on "everyone". you can say that's not really what you meant, but that was what raiders was replying to
Raider knows exactly what I meant by forced.

You cant buy an xbox1 without the kinnect
