This Friday, November 1, Virgil Abloh‘s official IKEA collaboration finally lands in stores. Yes, after what feels like an eternity of teasers, launches, and carpet pre-sales, the entire collection’s arrival is imminent.
The collection is called “MARKERAD,” which means “marked” in English. It is built from 13 pieces that carry Abloh signifiers: either orange design accents or quotation mark-encased words that carry a somewhat ironic take on the objects use and aesthetic. The brown IKEA bag — replacing the iconic blue one, for example — is stamped “SCULPTURE,” while a green fluffy rug features the warning “WET GRASS.”
