Just can’t releate to the few takes in here about not listening to Illmatic front to back.
It’s one of those albums that if you start at NY State of Mind or better yet the Genesis you just have to listen to the whole thing. It flows effortlessly and is really digestible with being 9 cuts.
It’s also the only rap album I know word for word.
Little 8th and 9th grade me was playing that shyt every day on the bus to school. It really is a foundational part of my hip hop journey.
